Friends and Family,
We had 4 family nights this past week, which are always really good
teaching opportunities to children and investigators. We also visited
with T___ a few times, who is a member of the church who has attended a
few times since I got here, but before that hadn't come in about 15
years. When I got here, he couldn't walk without crutches, but we gave
him a blessing and one day a few weeks later we showed up and he was
healed! Which was crazy! Milagros haha. This is someone who had so much
faith that a priesthood blessing could heal him, and it did. He really
wanted to read the Book of Mormon, but didn"t have reading glasses nor
money to buy reading glasses, so we found a little magnified glass in
our piso and gave him that and a Book of Mormon with our testimonies in
it. He hasn't ever listened to President Nelson, but he basically quoted
him twice. When we gave him the Book of Mormon, he said "You could have
given me all the gold in the world, but nothing is more valuable than
this book!" So that was pretty cool. He's been reading a lot since then,
and definitely growing a lot spiritually. We were talking to him about
how to receive the guidance of the spirit better in his life, and he
just randomly said "I can't wait for the spirit to start speaking to
me!" He"s a prophet its crazy haha.
I came across one of my favorite scriptures this week while reading the
Book of Mormon. While Jacob is finishing his writing, he says "O be
wise, what can I say more" (Jacob 6:12). Many of the world's problems would be solved if people were wise with their thoughts, words, and deeds.
